宿迁市苏州外国语学校六名学生和一名老师在加拿大愉快地度过了两个星期，并于2019年7月23日安全抵达宿迁。他们深深地感到加拿大有着丰富的教育资源，给他们提供了安全和谐的学习环境。
The six students and a teacher of Suqian Suzhou Foreign Language School had a lot of fun in Canada for two weeks and arrived in Suqian safely on July 23, 2019. They were truly impressed by the peaceful and harmonious environment for studying of Canada and its abundant resources of education.
不忘初心，牢记使命。宿苏外的学子们从未忘记这次出行的目的——放眼世界。通过学习，孩子们培养了许多可贵的能力，比如跨文化沟通、外语、适应能力和解决问题的能力。他们认真对待此次出行，并抒发了自己的感悟，让我们一起欣赏他们的作品吧。
Remain true to their original aspiration and keep their mission firmly in mind. The students of Suqian Suzhou Foreign Language School never forgot the purpose of the trip to Canada—start here, eyes on the world. With study abroad, they developed highly-valued skills such as intercultural communication, foreign language, adaptability, and problem-solving. Wang ziyang
I went to Parc Omega with my friends on July 10. We took the bus to there. In the park, we were still staying on the bus, which made me puzzled! I had never seen this way of watching animals. Later, we got off the bus, got close to animals and fed them with carrots. We saw many different kinds of wild animals in the park. We had a great time.
Cai Zihao
Today, we visited Canadian Museum of History. It was not far away from our school, so we went there by bus. It was an old building. We learned about Canada’s history in the Museum. I was surprised to find out more about Canada’s independence. The museum was a great experience because I learned about another culture.
Gong Sirui
We had a cooking class on Tuesday. Our teacher took us to a unique place to teach us how to cook. The cooking class was fun and interesting because the teacher taught us to make some snacks. This was my first time to learn how to cook by myself. I made some waffles under the guidance of the teacher. I liked this activity because I learned a lot from the lesson.
Zhang Zijia
We went canoeing on July 15. This great activity was on the Ottawa River. For this activity, we used two canoes. It was very important for everybody to paddle at the same time. At first, many students felt nervous, but they calmed down quickly after gaining the key to keep balance. It was a fantastic experience for me.
Gu Jinhuan
On July 18, 2019, we went to the Laser Quest. It was far away from our school, so we needed to take the bus for nearly one hour. I was quite excited because it was my first time to try this game. When we entered the room, I didn’t know what to do or where to move. Fortunately, we had another chance to play. The second time was better because I knew better where I was moving and where to shoot. This was one of my favourite activities in Canada.
Zhou Junfeng
This was a fun day because we played an interesting game called mini putting. It was just like playing golf. And I thought it was a kind of golf for children. The place we played was very cool. It was illuminated by a lot of neon colors. It was lots of fun to play mini putting with my friends.
Han Yun
The overseas immersion program provided students of Suqian Suzhou Foreign Language School with an opportunity of studying a language abroad, meeting people from around the world, gaining tons of independence and experiencing international culture.
Living and studying in an unfamiliar environment for teenagers would be challenging at first, but to my surprise, students adjusted themselves to the new circumstances soon. During two weeks, students were interacting with English language speakers every day, which was helpful for students to grasp the language in relevant cultural context. A variety of after-school activities helped expand students’ horizons and learn new things about Canada and its culture.
For students, the program is the chance to experience living and learning in a different setting. It will be the most memorable experience for them.
本次活动加深了同学们对中外文化差异的认识和理解，丰富了人生阅历，开拓了视野。我们坚信这次国外游学活动不仅提高了孩子们的英语水平，同时还帮助他们学习了异国文化，欣赏了旖旎风景。这将是他们永生难忘的经历。相信海外游学活动定能促进宿苏外学子今后的学习和个人发展。
The trip deepens the understanding and knowledge of the cultural differences between China and Western countries, enriches our experience and widens students’ horizon . We strongly believe that the experience of studying abroad not only increase the children’s English level, but also help them learn exotic culture and enjoy the splendid scenery. It should be an experience they will never forget. The overseas immersion program have huge benefits for the study and personal development of students of Suqian Suzhou Foreign Language School.
