我们的复活节假期
Our Easter Holiday
加拿大时间2017年4月16日，这一天是复活节。在加拿大，复活节是一个非常重要的节日，所以到这里上学四天后，长达10天的复活节假期就开始了，对此我们都很兴奋。
Easter day falls on April 16, 2017 in Canada. Easter is one of the most important festivals in Canada，so our ten-day holiday for Easter came after four school days when we had reached here , which made us all excited.
假期第一天就是Good Friday （耶稣受难日）。这一天的早晨大雪纷飞，整个世界都沉浸在安静的白色中。室内却是一片温暖，孩子们和各自的住家在为复活节做准备：绘彩蛋。 (Good Friday 对基督教徒们来说是个伤心的日子。许多年前就在这一天耶稣被钉死在十字架上。可为什么这么伤心的日子还能说“good”? 其实多年前的叫法是“God’s Friday”, 听起来就像“Good Friday”, 这就是现在这个叫法的由来。)
The first day of our Easter holiday was Good Friday, when it was snowing heavily and the whole world was covered in quiet white. However inside it was a warm picture, and our three boys were busy making preparations for Easter: painting Easter eggs. (Good Friday is a sad day for Christians. It was on this day many years ago that Jesus was crucified. Why is this sad day called “good”? For many years, it was called “God’s Friday” which sounds like Good Friday, so this may be the way that Good Friday got its name.)
复活节是鲜花盛开的时节，举行盛大的宗教游行，小兔巧克力和大量的彩蛋，庆祝春的到来，纪念并庆祝耶稣的复活。我们对复活节有了新的，更好的了解，也感受到复活节神圣的一面。
Easter is a time for flowers to bloom, a time for a religious parade, a time for bunnies and lots of brightly-colored eggs, a time to celebrate spring, and Easter is a special time to remember and celebrate the life of Jesus Christ. Now all of us have a different and better understanding of Easter，including its profoundly sacred dimension.
复活节庆祝之后，即假期的第六天，在住家的帮助下，我们来到了镇中心，领略小镇风光。在小镇上，我们领略了这里与国内许多的不同：这里多是低矮建筑，而国内却是高楼林立；这里的行人过马路除了要看交通指示灯，还要自己按下通行按钮；这里听不到汽车鸣笛，所有车辆礼让行人，这和我们的宿迁文明交通倒是很相似的；这里的居住区和便利购物中心是分开的；这里的空气要比我们国内清新，纯净的空气使得天空很蓝，这也许是因为这里地大人少，没有建筑粉尘的原因吧，不过孩子们还是更喜欢我们自己的国家。在镇上的商店里，孩子们都给自己的妈妈们选购了礼物，当我拍照后要传给妈妈们的时候，他们却说要回国后亲自送给妈妈们看，给他们惊喜，这让我觉得孩子们瞬间长大了，懂事了。
On the sixth day of our holiday after the celebration of Easter Day, we came to the downtown with the help of our host family, enjoying the sights of the town. We found lots of differences between Canada and China: most are low buildings here while more tall buildings in China; pedestrians here intending to cross the roads not only have to watch and wait for the green traffic lights but also have to press the buttons; we hear no horning and the cars all stop and let pedestrians go first, which is similar to our Suqian traffic; the residence zone and the commercial center are parted here; the air here is fresher compared to that in China, and the sky is clear and blue against the clean air, which may be because there is less construction dust with a small population on this huge land, but all boys said they love our own country more. We also went shopping in the downtown, and all of them bought some gifts for their Mums at home. When I took photos of their presents and planned to send them to their Mums, the boys stopped me and told me that they intended to give their Mums a big surprise, which impressed me deeply and made me feel that they have grown up.
假期后的第七天和第八天，我们又在住家的帮助下，乘出租车来到了北美最大的购物中心West Edmonton Mall，感受加拿大的商业气息。在这里我们逛着，比较着，觉得还是我们的国家更繁华，孩子们都说中国比这里更modern，我们都很自豪。在这里我们遇到了很多中国留学生，也在这里看到了出售中国食品的超市，门口的造型全是中国风，我们感觉很亲切，同时也很想念我们的伟大祖国。
We, with the help of our host family, took a taxi to West Edmonton Mall, the largest shopping mall in North America, appreciating the commercial center in Canada during the next two days. We watched and compared in the huge mall, concluding that our country is more prosperous and all boys said China is more modern, which makes us proud to be Chinese. Many international students from China can be seen here, and there is also a big supermarket selling Chinese food, whose gate is in Chinese style, which gives us a feeling of being at home and also causes us to miss our great motherland more.
一眨眼，10天假期即将结束，我们也开始休整身心，迎接新的一周。我们相信，在经历了短暂的中西文化冲击之后，新的一周肯定很精彩。
Time really flies. Our ten-day break is coming to an end and we are beginning to adjust us to the best state for the new week. We are sure our following week will be splendid after a short culture shock.
